The amount of time spent streaming videos online has more than doubled since 2008, though its 9% year-over-year growth from 2010 to 2011 is more subdued than the previous 2 years, according to November analysis from Nielsen. Data from the analysis indicates that time spent watching videos online is growing at a much faster rate than the number of video viewers, which has risen slightly more than 25% since 2008, including 4% in the past year. Total streams, meanwhile, have also grown at a faster rate than the number of viewers, though at a lesser rate than the total amount of time spent. (more…)
