Consumer Spending Up 5% M-O-M in March

Overall self-reported daily US consumer spending in stores, restaurants, gas stations, and online averaged $64 per day in March 2011, according to Gallup data. That is up 10% from $58 in January 2011 and 5% from $61 in February 2011, but is essentially the same as the $63 of March 2010 (up 1.5%).
